American model Emily DiDonato comes from Goshen, New York and is most recognized for her work for Victoria Secret and also for being the face of Maybelline New York. Signing with Request Model Management in 2008 after she was prompted to try modeling by a friend, DiDonato’s career took off – in spring 2009 she became the face of Guess as well as appeared in Ralph Lauren’s spring 2009 advertisement campaign, “Rugby.” This was an amazing feat for a young girl who had just graduated from high school and was starting out her modeling career. This proved to be just the start of Emily’s success in the fashion industry. It is very rare for a young model starting out in the industry and with little experience to strike success from an early stage.
The unique mix of Italian, Irish and native American blood created a huge buzz in the fashion industry for her stunning looks, with Vogue Germany naming her ‘top newcomer’ and ‘one to watch’, leading to IMG New York signing her on to their books. The Milan, Sydney, Paris and London branches of IMG, as well as Mega Model Agency in Hamburg and Berlin now represent Emily.
2009 was the year when Emily really hit her stride in career as the rookie model signed on as the new face of Maybelline New York, making her first commercial debut for the brands “Colour Sensational Lip Colour” line alongside supermodels Christie Turlington, Jessica White and Julia Stegner. This contract has made Emily become recognized around the world, featuring as the face of nearly every Maybelline New York product, advertorial and commercial. It wasn’t long before international giant Victoria’s Secret caught wind of DiDonato’s unique look and stunning figure, signing her in August of 2009. She landed her first magazine cover two months later on the front of The Blocks October issue.
By 2010, the industry was a flutter with DiDonato’s amazing looks and bright eyes and she became the face of Giorgio Armani’s fragrance Acqua Di Gioia. These images were also used on the cover of L’Oreal’s Annual and Financial reports. Emily has featured on many magazine covers from all over the world such as Madame Figaro, The Block, Helmet, French Revue De Modes, Numero, Jalouse, Grey, Elle Lebanon, Vogue Belleza (Mexico), Black Magazine, Marie Claire Spain, Telva and Details in the US. She also walked for elite fashion house Chanel in the ready to wear Spring/Summer 2011 show, adding anther high-end designer to her resume.
Emily’s bright eyes and stunning frame have made her appear in advertising campaigns for Oyosho, True Religion, Eres, La Senza Lingerie, Pronovias, Guess, Maybelline, Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani, Kensie, Brian Atwood, Miu Miu, Elie Tahari, Aldo, Just Cavalli, Lucky Brand Jeans, Nicole Farhi Missoni for Lindex, Replay, OVS Industry, GAP, Longchamp, Trussardi, Juicy Couture, and Ralph Lauren.
Emily wasn’t always a glamorous girl, calling herself a ‘tomboy’ as a child who played in an all boys’ hockey league and being involved in sports all through high school playing basketball, soccer and lacrosse. She loves being outdoors and grew up hiking, fishing and camping. She also still loves to stay active calling herself a “fitness freak,” working out everyday and staying active with spin classes, running, yoga and Pilates.
Before striking modeling gold and booking jobs all around the world, Emily worked in a pizzeria, which was her first job. She continued to work there after she started modeling because she loved it so much. She drives a 1996 Volkswagen Beetle given to her by her grandmother on her 16th birthday. Emily’s brother is a New York City Police Officer and her father is a retired Firefighter who she is extremely proud of.
The 5’10” model has hit the industry running and has landed some huge contracts that would leave any budding model green with envy. Emily’s career is blossoming and leaves us waiting to see what this all-American girl will perform next.
