7 Most Anticipated Spring Beauty Buys

Posted by Admin.

The skies might look gray and dismal right now, but sun and warmer weather are coming soon, and along with it, some new beauty needs. Move the heavy moisturizers to the back of the beauty cabinet, and bring out the lightweight tinted moisturizers and the dewy skin-makers.

For those of you also craving some makeup bag newness, we talked to makeup artist Troy Surratt, founder of Surratt Beauty, who has worked with Charlize Theron, Janet Jackson, Kim Kardashian, and Jennifer Lopez.

“This Spring makeup should be minimal and easy, with well-protected skin that is polished and glowing with a touch of sun kissed warmth. The eyelids are swept with a single shade of light reflective shimmer that is relatively effortless, yet eye brightening, framed by brows that are fuller, neatly brushed up, and groomed. Lips balance the face with a subtle wash of soft color. As we all ease into a sort of re-emergence this Spring, I would like to inspire a makeup look that feels fresh and hopeful, like a new beginning.”

Here are some of Troy’s most anticipated new makeup buys, featuring glow enhancers, fresh colors, and dewy, bright lips.

DIOR — Powder-No-Powder

This is a perfect setting powder for when complexions naturally start looking less matte and more oily. Instead, this powder transforms skin to make it look more vital and glowing. This powder also doesn’t look at all powdery on the skin, but appears completely invisible.

GUCCI — Poudre De Beauté Éclat Soleil Bronzing Powder

Your complexion might have more of a pallor to it than usual thanks to quarantine. This bronzing powder can warm it up with a healthy, non-orange glow, and is available in five shades. Apply it with a fluffy brush along the edges of your hairline, jawline, and in a C shape along your cheekbones.

SURRATT — Expressioniste Brow Pomade

This brow pomade goes on clear, not chunky with a tiny spoolie brush. You can use it to brush up your brows to look more groomed and hold them in place all day, with its flexible, matte wax formula.

MILK — Color Chalk

These makeup “crayons” are fun, and extremely modern, with an easy to use creamy powder formula. They come in twelve shimmery, fairy-like shades that you can glide on the cheeks as highlighter or dab on the eyes to brighten.

VICTORIA BECKHAM — Bitten Lips Tint in Bisou

Not quite a lipstick, and not quite a gloss, this is a water-based lip stain that enhances your lips with a subtle wash and boost of “I’ve been drinking sangria”-like color. It also won’t transfer to the inside of a mask.

FRESH — Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment

These tinted lip balms add a sheer wash of color, but also moisturize and protect your lips with SPF 15. They come in many shades that range from reds to nudes.

GLOSSIER — Invisible Shield SPF 35

This sunscreen is completely transparent, and gives ample sun protection that feels weightless on the skin, thanks to its gel formula.
