5 Best Summer Moisturizers

It’s an unofficial beauty rule: As the weather gets hotter, the moisturizers get lighter. Once temperatures start warming up, put away the heavy, cloying moisturizers in favor of more lightweight, weightless formulas. To find out what are the best ones to swap into your beauty routine, The Fashionography talked to makeup artist Ingeborg. She’s worked with Chloe Sevingny and Alexa Demie and brands like Chloe, Stella McCartney, and Chanel Beauty. Here are her favorites, in her own words.

African Botanics — Silver Rescue Cream

“A sensitive skin miracle worker and instant problem solver. I’ve used it on clients with flaking sunburns, post peel/ laser sensitivity, rosacea skin, and all other kinds of flare ups and this one calms everything down instantly. It is always in my kit. And even if you don’t have any skin flare-ups, it is a soothing moisturizer that literally works on all skin types and absorbs super fast.”

Augustinus Bader — The Cream

“The super smoother and glow getter that became an instant classic when it came out. It plumps, smoothes out fine lines, and the results just keep getting better the longer you use it. It is an easy way to get a red carpet like glow everyday.”

Dr. Barbara Sturm — Face Cream Light

“This is a super moisturizer that works on pretty much all skin types. It smoothes, deeply hydrates, plumps and maintains a fresh, hydrated, soft glow all day. It is not greasy, and is light enough to sink in quickly.”

Retrouvé Dynamic Nourishing Creme

“This is a super light weight fine line eraser and multitasker. It has impressive results and absorbs super quick for those in a hurry. You can apply makeup right away and it sinks right in. It hydrates, gives a super smooth base for makeup, and a perfect product for humid days, too, as it disappears into the skin without leaving any greasy feeling behind.”

Sisley Paris — Emulsion Ecologique

“This is a lightweight miracle worker that works on all skin types and truly restores dehydrated, sensitive skin. I use it on both women and men. It’s a go-to classic that never fails me.”
