CHANEL Coco Beach 2023 Campaign
A couple in town, model Vivienne Rohner and photographer Theo Wenner make a stopover in the Hamptons for the CHANEL COCO BEACH 2023 collection campaign. “It was beautiful because I have a very strong connection with the Hamptons,” says the face of this collection designed by Virginie Viard. “I’ve been going every weekend for almost five years to visit Theo’s mother who lives there. Water is fundamental to my equilibrium, and I’m lucky to live in New York, a city surrounded by sea.”
The COCO BEACH collection campaign is a continuation of the Spring-Summer 2023 pre-collection campaign that followed Vivienne Rohner in her everyday life in New York: “They’re completely different stories, but the essence is the same: it is a fantasised, movie version of our life”, she adds.
Aquatic and spontaneous, the campaign presents itself as an intimate portrait, like a holiday photo album, shot between the hammock, the pontoon and the beach. A celebration of the spirit of the COCO BEACH collection and its summery pieces in white, black and pink – terry towelling outfits, nineties-cut swimsuits, star motifs, tweed mini-dresses and velvet jumpsuits – as well as a tribute to the iconography associated with the Hamptons. “This shoot reminded me of how I felt when I first came here,” says Vivienne Rohner. “Before you visit the United States, you watch all these movies and documentaries about New York, the East Coast or even California, and you have this image in your mind that doesn’t reflect the reality of everyday life. The Hamptons, on the other hand, is exactly how I imagined it, that dream of a white house by the beach… It’s such a preppy place.”
