Crashed cars among Riccardo Tisci’s famous seams in photographer duo Mert & Marcus’ caption of the Spring/Summer 2014 campaign of Givenchy.
Givenchy’s creative director, Riccardo Tisci is not the one to lay low when it comes to his model castings. Being the one who introduced supermodel Joan Smalls to the rest of the industry by casting her as an exclusive for his Spring/Summer 2010 Haute Couture show in Paris, it is clear that if a model gets a thumbs up from Tisci, it is just the start of something greater.
For his Spring/Summer 2014 campaign, Riccardo has focused on bringing forward more female models of color to the fashion scene. Casting rookies Asia Chow, Maria Borges, Eboni Riley and neo-soul singer Erykah Badu to appear as the new faces of Givenchy, Tisci’s message about a more mixed raced fashion industry is officially captured on film. Adding the male model, Dominik Bauer to the cast, makes this campaign rise to stardom, like Tisci’s work always does.
