The Casablanca Fall Winter 2021 Tailoring Collection is inspired by the late-night glamour of Monte-Carlo’s famous casinos. Whether it be the late-night gamblers, tycoons or celebratory race drivers that visit the French riviera coast, the suiting plays an extremely important role for the season and is an intrinsic part of the design process at Casablanca. The iconography of playing cards in the shape of a diamond are found across the tailoring. From the diamond print found on the cropped harlequin suit jacket and trouser, to the diamond shaped buttons that adorn the suiting, these elements embody the Monaco aesthetic.
Casablanca Fall Winter 2021 Tailoring Collection
“Tailoring for us is extremely important. Part of our creative process has always been to take classic elements of fashion and applying our modern take on them. For us, the challenge and pleasure of making a suit is bringing it into the modern world through the lens of Casablanca.”
“Shooting this campaign in a building designed by architect Carlo Scarpa was a dream come true, the way he took an impossible, almost untouchable city and left a modern imprint is comparative to the way we design.” – Charaf Tajer, Founder
The brand worked with two different luxurious and unique fabrics this season for the FW21 tailoring collection. The vivid green suit is cut from a silk-blend fabric that was made using an artisanal weaving technique that produces particularly vibrant colours, manufactured in the renowned Italian-based mill; Ricceri. Alaskan Blue, soft Candlelight Peach, and striking Persimmon fabrics are woven from Australian merino yarns, produced at the legendary fabric mill Raphael.
