Frame and Sotheby’s have just debuted a capsule collection that breathes fresh life into Manhattan’s decadent 1980s prep scene. The accompanying campaign was shot by Sean Thomas and featured auctioneer Kimberly Pirtle and Sotheby’s SVP Ashkan Baghestani.

Recalling Frame’s prior collaboration with the Ritz Paris, Sotheby’s enlisted co-founder Erik Torstensson to translate its heritage into wearable fashion. Imagine the heady glamour of Wall Street bravado mingling with Upper East Side refinement.

Drawing inspiration from icons like Richard Gere and Harrison Ford, as well as settings such as The Hamptons and Tom Wolfe’s “Bonfire of the Vanities,” the collection speaks to the decadence and insouciance of 1980s Manhattan. Torstensson describes it as “high fashion doing heritage,” aiming to resonate with both seasoned collectors and the modern fashion-forward crowd.

The collection offers argyle knits, oxford shirts, and navy blazers lined with gavel motifs. Pieces emblazoned with the word “collector” nod to Sotheby’s clientele, while the overall aesthetic pays homage to a time when New York’s elite embraced art and affluence post-recession. It captures the era’s yuppie culture, where ambition met style in the city’s power corridors.

The collection is now available to purchase at FRAME’s 16 stores, FRAME-store.com, and at Sotheby’s locations in New York, London, Paris, and Hong Kong, with prices ranging from $43 to $1,298.
