Omega’s latest ambassador signing puts the actor in the company of Clooney and Craig, and has many wondering if 007 is next.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson, The British actor known for his smoldering turn in Bullet Train and a burgeoning reputation for red-carpet polish, has been chosen as the Omega’s latest global ambassador. The appointment places Taylor-Johnson in the Swiss watchmaker’s star-studded ambassador family alongside George Clooney, Nicole Kidman, Eddie Redmayne, Naomie Harris and, fittingly, former 007 Daniel Craig.
Taylor-Johnson marked the partnership with a tour of Omega’s headquarters in Biel, Switzerland, getting a first-hand look at the brand’s watchmaking heritage and craftsmanship. Omega President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann lauded the actor’s versatility across action, thriller and romance roles, noting his evident passion for timepieces as he welcomed Taylor-Johnson to the fold.

Omega clearly has a type. Taylor-Johnson’s mix of brooding charm and action-hero credentials fits the brand’s timeless cool. And one imagines the actor didn’t leave Omega’s HQ without a new timepiece or two — such are the perks of the gig.
Naturally, the partnership has reignited speculation that Taylor-Johnson, long rumored to be a James Bond frontrunner, is one step closer to a license to kill.
