Eugene Souleiman, hailing from East London, has firmly established himself as a leading figure in the world of hair styling. Currently serving as the Global Creative Director of Care & Styling for Wella Professional, Souleiman has spent more than three decades shaping trends and collaborating with the crème de la crème of fashion photographers. His extensive portfolio includes editorial work and campaigns for iconic brands such as Calvin Klein, Balenciaga, Givenchy, and Fendi, to name just a few.

Souleiman’s journey into hair styling commenced unexpectedly after he left art studies in 1982. A job center placement led him to an apprenticeship in hairdressing, where he mastered the “Sasson way” under the tutelage of Trevor Sorbie, a collaboration that spanned nearly a decade. Over the years, Souleiman’s career has seen him at the helm of creative direction for several prestigious hair companies. After a stint at Toni & Guy in 1998, he moved on to become Co-Creative Director at Bumble and Bumble in 1999. His journey continued with roles at Vidal Sassoon as Editorial Director, Tecni.Art/L’Oréal Professionnel, and eventually, Wella Professional.

Souleiman’s influence extends to the runway, where he has crafted hair looks for an impressive roster of designers including Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, Chloe, Louis Vuitton, and Valentino, alongside many others. His creative visions have also graced the pages of leading fashion publications such as Dazed and Confused, i-D Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, Another Magazine, and the New York Times.

At the heart of Souleiman’s philosophy is the belief that hair should be a source of fun and experimentation, a medium that is ever-changing and not to be taken too seriously. Yet, in his skilled hands, hair transcends its everyday significance to become something extraordinary, a testament to his artistic prowess and his ability to reimagine the potential of hair as a form of expression.
