Ibrahim Kamara, a visionary British stylist, has redefined menswear and masculinity through his innovative styling and art direction, collaborating with brands like Stella McCartney, Burberry, and Dior. As the current editor-in-chief of Dazed and the art and image director of Off-White, Kamara brings a unique perspective to the fashion world.

Originally from Sierra Leone and raised in the Gambia, Kamara moved to London at 11 and later attended Central Saint Martins. There, his project “2026” envisioned the future of black masculinity and was showcased at Somerset House. This project, done in collaboration with Kristin-Lee Moolman, involved transforming discarded outfits found in Johannesburg into new pieces, highlighting Kamara’s sustainable and creative approach to fashion.

Kamara, who was mentored by Barry Kamen, has a rich portfolio that includes styling for Sampha’s “Process” and campaigns for Stella McCartney and Dior, among others. His work not only challenges traditional fashion norms but also celebrates African culture and narratives.

In 2018, Kamara expanded his influence in the fashion media world by joining i-D, first as fashion editor at large and then as senior fashion editor at large. In January 2021, he took the helm of Dazed as editor-in-chief, further solidifying his status as a leading voice in contemporary fashion. April 2022 marked his new role at Off-White as art and image director, continuing the legacy of the late Virgil Abloh with his distinctive creative vision.
