Dermalogica's Brand History

Dermalogica launched in 1986 with a clear mission: to create professional-grade skincare that prioritizes skin health over beauty trends. Founded by Jane Wurwand, a trained skin therapist, the brand was born out of The International Dermal Institute, an advanced education center she established to elevate skincare training. What followed was a line of formulas designed for professionals—fragrance-free, backed by research, and focused on results.
