Julia Sarr-Jamois grew up in south London, born to a French mother and a Senegalese father. She began her career in fashion as a model in her late teens before moving into editorial work. At 19, she joined the team at i-D Magazine in London, starting from an entry-level position and later becoming senior fashion editor, developing a reputation for her instinctive approach to styling and editorial storytelling.

Since 2018, she has held key roles at British Vogue, including fashion editor and fashion director. She oversees high-profile shoots and collaborates closely with designers, photographers, and brands across the industry. Her styling has appeared in campaigns and editorials for labels including Hermès , Chanel , Zara, and Kenneth Ize, reflecting her ability to balance contemporary fashion with a personal point of view.

Beyond her editorial work, Sarr-Jamois is committed to mentorship and industry access. She is a founding member of initiatives such as Mentoring Matters and Rubric, which focus on supporting emerging talent and promoting greater representation within fashion.
