LOEWE Amazona Bag 2021. Making its debut in the house’s Fall Winter 2021 runway collection, LOEWE presents two new styles: the Amazona 19 Square and the Amazona 28, available in a boldly coloured range of nappa calfskin, and another range with the house’s Anagram symbol woven in jacquard as a pattern repeating itself over blended cotton-canvas.
Named after the female characters of Greek mythology, the Amazona bag was designed in 1975, a time when women were gaining their equality and independence in the workplace. The Amazona was made with them in mind, and embodied the spirit of the era; a bag that is comfortable yet versatile, with a classic hooped handle and the capacity to hold everything needed over the course of a working day. Their return sees the construction, proportions, materials and details of the bag reworked to the highest modern standard.
The new LOEWE Amazona Bag 2021, crafted in supple nappa calfskin and shades of Avocado Green, Black, Lagoon Blue, Lime Yellow, Mink and Warm Desert, sees key details reworked for a lighter and more refined look. Large, zipped compartments have been designed with today’s electronics in mind—as has its fully-functional padlock engraved with LOEWE’s Anagram, and the inside mini-pocket to hide away its key. Removable and adjustable shoulder straps, and zips, are especially slender; the latter’s discreet leather pullers in tonal calfskin compound the bag’s style, while square, metal ‘feet’ at its base provide extra protection.
Both styles are available in two sizes: the Amazona 19 Square and the Amazona 28, with the numbers denoting their width in centimetres. Each is lined in gold suede with leather piping and finished with ‘LOEWE Made in Spain’ branding embossed in gold on the inside panel and the inside of their leather straps.
