Palace's Brand History

Palace Skateboards is a London-based fashion and skate brand founded in 2009 by Lev Tanju and Gareth Skewis. Originating from South London’s gritty skate scene, the brand’s name came from the nickname Tanju and his friends gave their rundown flat—the “Palace.” Palace quickly grew from a niche skate label into a global streetwear force, known for its authentic connection to skate culture, VHS-filmed skate videos, and a strong visual identity centered around the Tri-Ferg logo, designed by Fergus “Fergadelic” Purcell. The brand maintains its roots by featuring its skate team in campaigns and consistently referencing British youth and sports culture in its designs.
