Balmain’s creative director is celebrated for infusing fresh creativity, diverse representation, and dynamic growth into the brand.

Olivier Rousteing has been named the 2025 recipient of the Couture Council Award for Artistry of Fashion, bestowed by The Museum at FIT. He will receive the accolade at the Couture Council’s annual benefit luncheon on September 3 at Lincoln Center, an event that traditionally kicks off New York Fashion Week.
Rousteing has led Balmain since 2011, when at 25 he became one of the youngest creative directors to helm a major Parisian house. Over the past decade, he has revitalized the brand with a modern, inclusive vision that has attracted a diverse global following.
This year’s Couture Council luncheon, presented by Bloomingdale’s, doubles as a fundraiser for The Museum at FIT. Proceeds from the event support the museum’s mission, linking the celebration of design talent with funding for fashion preservation and education.
He will join past Couture Council honorees such as Christian Louboutin and Carolina Herrera, placing him in the company of industry luminaries.
