Onitsuka Tiger Turned Its MEXICO 66 Sneaker Into a Ballet Flat

Onitsuka Tiger has turned its MEXICO 66 sneaker into a ballet flat called the GYMNARINA. Call it a sneakerina, the ballet-and-sneaker hybrid that has outrun the rest. The flat carries the sneaker's crossed heel, leather pull tab and the Tiger stripes down each side, the details that keep it sporty.

Thread in the rope-style laces with their metallic aglets and the shoe reads structured; switch to satin ribbon and it softens into full balletcore. The laces come off entirely, too, leaving a slip-on.

Soft leather up top, with shirring elastic for a snug fit. Below, the sole stays light and flexes with the foot.

It comes in five colorways, red, blue, black and the two metallics, silver and rose gold. The GYMNARINA is in Onitsuka Tiger's Hong Kong stores and online.
