Balenciaga is the first fashion house to join Substack's sponsorship program, the platform's bid to hand control back to independent writers.

The program opens several revenue streams for content creators, brand collaborations among them. Balenciaga joined Substack back in July 2025, among the first fashion names on the platform; this deal moves it from publishing on the platform to supporting the creators who do.

For years the house has backed voices across music, art, sport, design, and tech. "Balenciaga has a century-long history of innovation, and I'm proud that it continues to forge ahead as a cultural catalyst, empowering creativity and new channels of independent thinking, embodied today with this Substack partnership," said Gianfranco Gianangeli, CEO of Balenciaga.
