CHANEL 2022 2023 Métiers D’art Show

Presented for the first time at the former Palais de Justice in Dakar in December 2022, the 2022 2023 Métiers d’art collection imagined by Virginie Viard will make a stopover in Tokyo, Japan.

Resulting from the encounter between Virginie Viard, director Ladj Ly and students from the Kourtrajmé school1, a documentary series of four videos filmed in Dakar, the CHANEL Creation Studio on rue Cambon and the ateliers of the Maisons d’art at le19M in Paris, was unveiled at the time of the show last December.

CHANEL is now presenting a fifth, previously unseen episode produced by the school’s students. The teaser features actress and CHANEL ambassador Nana Komatsu as she travels from Dakar to Tokyo. The journey through three cultural and artistic capitals begins in Paris, continues with the vibrant energy of Dakar and the show, and ends in the heart of the Tokyo night, between the emblematic Tokyo Skytree and the frenzy of the Shibuya district. Nana Komatsu reappears here, wearing a tweed jacket embroidered with beads from the collection, as an invitation to discover the 2022/23 Métiers d’art show.
