Brad Pitt has a new line of work in the first full trailer for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, released by Netflix. Director David Fincher’s film puts the stuntman to work as a Hollywood fixer in 1977, eight years after the events of filmmaker Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 film Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. Tarantino wrote the screenplay, with Pitt reprising the role that earned him an Oscar.
Fincher and Pitt previously made Se7en, Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button together.
Television star Charlie Peters, played by actor Scott Caan, does his own stunts. His agent Karen Crosby, played by actor Elizabeth Debicki, calls on Booth, who is also earning money as a bartender and projectionist. Netflix’s synopsis places the job amid a story involving the gangster Verdusco brothers, played by actors Matt Groove and JB Tadena. Actors Carla Gugino and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II also join the cast.
Harper will publish Tarantino’s novel The Adventures of Cliff Booth on December 8. Publishers Weekly reported the book deal on September 15, identifying it as a novelization of Fincher’s film. It follows Tarantino’s 2021 novel Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth opens globally in IMAX theaters on November 25 for an exclusive two-week engagement. It arrives on Netflix on December 23.
