Miley Cyrus and Maxx Morando turn the camera on each other in bed. In her new “Let’s Get Married” video, that small exchange gives the romance its central idea: each person gets to be both subject and spectator. Bedroom footage and a kiss in the bathtub take on the texture of a camcorder recording, suggesting something intended for private replay.
Directed by Mert Alas and filmed at Los Angeles’s Chateau Marmont, the clip accompanies Bass Persuades, Cyrus’s tenth studio album, released September 18 through Atlantic Records. Casting her actual fiancé gives the song’s invitation an identifiable recipient. It also puts a real relationship inside a setting already built for fantasy: a Hollywood hotel, photographed by a director fluent in glamour.
Morando’s presence carries a musical history, too. He contributed to Something Beautiful, released in May 2025, and has production credits elsewhere on Bass Persuades. His appearance extends a partnership that already exists inside the studio. Across the new record, that creative circle also includes Kid Harpoon, Model/Actriz and Miike Snow’s Andrew Wyatt, placing the couple’s story within a broader collaborative project.
Cyrus has described the album’s relatively quick creation as part of its appeal. “Having this record keep up with the way my life moves in real time and still feel so alive is special,” she wrote on Instagram.
Read in that light, “Let’s Get Married” becomes an exercise in turning a present-tense relationship into a public image. The camera passing between Cyrus and Morando offers a compact expression of that arrangement: affection, authorship and the pleasure of deciding how you want to be seen together.
