Walton Goggins, the White Lotus actor, shows up in the Strokes' new video for "Going Shopping," lip-syncing next to frontman Julian Casablancas as dancing clowns and assorted chaos play out around the two deadpan men.
The video takes its cue from Paul Simon's "You Can Call Me Al," the 1986 clip that featured Chevy Chase. Landing Goggins was "a long shot," the band said in a statement, but the Righteous Gemstones and Fallout star agreed. The shoot reunited the group with director Johann Rashid in Tenerife, in Spain's Canary Islands, in May.
"Going Shopping" is the lead single from Reality Awaits, the band's first album since 2020's The New Abnormal. Goggins wrote on Instagram that he had been spinning the record since March and called it "so gatdamn special." The album arrives July 24, ahead of a summer tour across the U.S.
