The Japanese partners merge craft and character in two clear-acetate frames finished with Needles’ trademark violet hue.
NEEDLES has joined forces with Japanese eyewear specialist FACTORY900 on a debut capsule that puts craft front and center. As with every FACTORY900 frame, the two new styles are produced in-house by artisans in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, home to some of the country’s most skilled makers.
The release revolves around a pair of sunglasses that balance NEEDLES’ idiosyncratic flair with FACTORY900’s technical precision. Model “RF-064C” carries an asymmetrical diamond pattern along its acetate, scattering light in unexpected ways. Its counterpart, “RF-170,” takes a quieter route: a classic round outline reinforced by a slim metal inner rim.
Both silhouettes arrive in clear acetate washed with NEEDLES’ signature purple. Six lens tints—ranging from smoked gray to warm amber—let wearers tune the mood without losing the frame’s translucent character. The collection is available now through the NEEDLES webstore.
