Saint Laurent has introduced Simone, a new day bag inspired by founder Yves Saint Laurent’s personal letters. The design comes in Medium and Large versions, both with double handles and light bronze hardware.
Per Saint Laurent, “Simone reinterprets the spirit of the envelope pouches of the 1970s and 1980s, transforming an intimate evening accessory into a contemporary day bag.” Beneath the flap, two compartments and a zippered pocket divide the interior, while a magnetic snap holds the bag closed.
Per the brand, “The new Double Cassandre signature completes the design, introducing a new dimensional interpretation of the iconic House signature.” The original YSL monogram dates to 1961, when graphic designer Cassandre created the intertwined initials for the house.
