Sky High Farm’s debut art biennial hits the Hudson Valley this summer with a lineup of industry-shaping artists and a fresh take on sustainability.

Sky High Farm, the nonprofit founded by artist Dan Colen, is set to launch its inaugural art biennial titled TREES NEVER END AND HOUSES NEVER END . The exhibition will run from June 28 through October 25, 2025, in a historic apple cold storage warehouse along the Hudson River in Germantown, New York.
The biennial brings together over 50 artists, including Anne Imhof, Félix González-Torres Foundation, Tschabalala Self, Rudolf Stingel, Ben Wigfall Estate, and Rirkrit Tiravanija . Curated by Colen, the exhibition explores themes of ecology, industry, and memory in the Hudson Valley and its connection to New York City.

Highlights include Imhof’s industrial water containers referencing the Hudson River, Brian Jungen’s sculpture cast from melted metal found in the remnants of his studio after it was destroyed by wildfires, and Stingel’s massive mirrored floor piece reflecting the continuity and movement of nearby river tides.
The biennial also introduces an artist-led fundraising model, allowing artists to define the terms of their contributions. Proceeds will support Sky High Farm’s mission to grow and distribute nutrient-rich foods, offer educational programs on agriculture and climate action, and fund food justice initiatives around the US and globally.

The exhibition is named after a piece by the late artist Joey Piecuch, Sky High Farm’s first staff member and founding farmer, serving as both a talisman and collective wish amidst a fragile future.
