Tribeca Festival and Chanel reveal the lineup of contemporary artists creating original artworks for award-winning filmmakers at the 2025 festival.

Tribeca Festival and Chanel have announced the artists selected for the 2025 Artist Awards Program, continuing a partnership that began in 2005 to celebrate creative achievement by commissioning original artworks for award-winning filmmakers. This year’s program, curated by Zoe Lukov, features artists whose practices bridge film, visual art, and innovative storytelling methods, resonating deeply with Tribeca’s mission to expand the boundaries of cinematic narratives.

Participants for 2025 include Alteronce Gumby, Faith Wilding, Jane Dickson, Jeffrey Meris, Lauren Halsey, Marilyn Minter, Naudline Pierre, Raúl de Nieves, Simphiwe Ndzube, and Tuan Andrew Nguyen. According to Tribeca Festival Co-Founder Jane Rosenthal, these selected artists reflect the festival’s commitment to reshaping cultural perspectives through bold storytelling. “In every medium, these creators are shaping culture and inspiring the future of storytelling,” Rosenthal notes.

Launched in the aftermath of September 11, 2001, Tribeca Festival was established by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff to reinvigorate New York City’s artistic community. Chanel’s enduring support echoes founder Gabrielle Chanel’s legacy of close collaboration with groundbreaking artists, reaffirming the fashion house’s long-standing dedication to artistic expression.
The artworks commissioned for the 2025 Artist Awards will be exhibited at the Tribeca Festival Hub at Spring Studios during the festival, running June 4–15, 2025.
