Brandon Maxwell

Brandon Maxwell, the Texas-born designer with an eye for modern elegance, launched his eponymous label in 2015, creating clothes that feel as powerful as the women who wear them. After studying photography at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Maxwell found his way into fashion through internships with Deborah Afshani and Edward Enninful before working with Nicola Formichetti. It was in 2012 that he began his tenure as Lady Gaga’s fashion director, a role that added a sharp edge to his sensibilities.
Since debuting his line, Maxwell has built a reputation for creating designs that resonate with real moments—from red carpets to everyday sophistication. His signature lies in impeccable tailoring and clean lines, with each garment crafted in New York City. Celebrities like Michelle Obama, Meghan Markle, Lady Gaga, and Gwyneth Paltrow have become loyal supporters, often spotted in his structured suits and elegant dresses that speak to his deep appreciation for craftsmanship.
Maxwell’s designs are about making women feel their strongest, and the industry has taken notice. He earned the 2016 CFDA Swarovski Award for Womenswear and the Fashion Group International Rising Star Award, among others. In recent years, he’s expanded his vision to new creative projects while continuing to build on his brand’s commitment to empowering women with clothes that are both beautiful and intentional.
