Charlie Casely Hayford

Charlie Casely-Hayford, born in London in 1986, is a British menswear designer renowned for blending traditional tailoring with contemporary streetwear influences. Educated at Harrow School, Central Saint Martins, and the Courtauld Institute of Art, he co-founded the luxury menswear brand Casely-Hayford with his father, Joe Casely-Hayford OBE, in 2008. The brand, rooted in “English Sartorialism and British Anarchy,” quickly gained international acclaim, with stockists including Dover Street Market and Barneys. Charlie has also contributed to publications like GQ Style and i-D magazine and styled musicians such as Nas and The xx.
Casely-Hayford’s design philosophy emphasizes duality, merging classic Savile Row tailoring with modern, androgynous silhouettes. His collections often feature neutral tones, abstract prints, and a focus on craftsmanship, reflecting a commitment to understated elegance. Notable collaborations include a 2017 suiting collection with Topman, which showcased his ability to make high-quality tailoring accessible to a broader audience. In 2010, he was selected as the global face of Converse’s international advertising campaign, further cementing his influence in the fashion industry.
Following his father’s passing in 2019, Charlie has continued to lead the Casely-Hayford brand, honoring his father’s legacy while infusing his own vision. In 2025, he contributed to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” exhibition, highlighting the significance of Black designers in fashion history. His work continues to challenge traditional norms, offering a fresh perspective on menswear that resonates with a diverse, modern audience.
