Christopher John Rogers

Christopher John Rogers, known for bold fashion statements and unapologetic color, has carved a niche that melds extravagance with everyday appeal. Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Rogers always had a passion for the arts. His early fascination with anime, Gaugin, and church attire led him to explore fashion through costuming comic book characters and experimenting with unconventional materials. This innate creativity laid the foundation for his distinct voice in American fashion.
After studying at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Rogers launched his namesake label as part of his senior thesis in 2016. Cardi B wore one of his coats to the BET Hip Hop Awards, quickly putting his work in the spotlight. Since then, Rogers has dressed Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Michelle Obama, and Vice President Kamala Harris, who wore his design for her swearing-in in January 2021—a defining moment for the designer.
Rogers won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund prize in 2019, Emerging Designer of the Year in 2020, and American Womenswear Designer of the Year in 2021. His ability to channel “pragmatic glamour”—vibrant colors and wearable yet timeless designs—has resonated within the industry. His pieces have been showcased at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” exhibit, and he collaborated with Target in 2021.
Today, Christopher John Rogers is a mainstay in luxury fashion retail, with collections available at Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Browns, and Net-a-Porter. Whether creating joyful garments or making a bold statement, Rogers is redefining the way we dress, one electric hue at a time.
