Claire Grech, a London-based hairstylist originally from Essex, has carved a niche in the fashion industry with her character-driven approach to hair design. Her journey began at 15 with a work placement in an avant-garde salon, sparking a passion that led her to assist top stylists for five years before establishing her own practice. Grech’s work is characterized by a blend of natural textures and sculptural forms, often utilizing wigs and hairpieces to craft transformative looks. She emphasizes storytelling through hair, drawing inspiration from art, film, and everyday life.

Grech’s portfolio includes collaborations with brands such as Phoebe Philo, COS, Zara, and Mulberry. Notably, she contributed to Phoebe Philo’s A3 campaign, working alongside photographer Talia Chetrit and makeup artist Mel Arter. Her editorial work has been featured in publications like British Vogue, W Magazine, and Self Service. Grech is represented by Streeters, a global creative talent agency.

In addition to her styling work, Grech co-founded Off-Black Magazine in 2014 with fellow hairstylist Sarah Jo Palmer. The publication serves as a platform to showcase emerging talent in fashion and beauty. Grech’s commitment to storytelling and her innovative use of hair as a medium continue to influence the industry.
