Peter Dundas has always been one of fashion’s quintessential nomads—his journey through the industry reads like a curated history of some of the most glamorous design houses. Born in Norway, Dundas studied at Parsons School of Design in New York, where his fascination with the female form took root. After graduating, he sharpened his aesthetic under the tutelage of Jean Paul Gaultier, gaining experience in sensual draping and a flair for dramatic silhouettes. Dundas later moved on to Christian Lacroix, and eventually to Ungaro, establishing himself as a designer who knew how to marry a theatrical vision with a deep understanding of craftsmanship.

Dundas’ major breakthrough came in 2008, when he was appointed Creative Director at Pucci, a house with its own storied legacy of bold, swirling prints and unapologetic glamour. For seven years, Dundas breathed new life into the brand, taking its DNA—the vibrant colors and patterns—and injecting it with a sense of youthfulness and a focus on the nocturnal, on-going out and feeling fabulous. His time at Pucci turned the label into a beacon of ready-to-wear decadence, all while expanding into accessories like handbags and eyewear.

In 2015, Dundas returned to Roberto Cavalli, a place he described as a “homecoming,” having been there in the early 2000s. But the Cavalli chapter ended in 2016, and Dundas took the opportunity to strike out on his own, launching Dundas in 2017 alongside his partner Evangelo Bousis. The debut wasn’t a traditional runway—instead, it made its first splash on none other than Beyoncé at the Grammy Awards, where she wore a gold, sequined creation that felt like a pure distillation of Dundas’ ethos: empowered, unapologetic, and completely captivating.

Dundas operates differently from many traditional brands, with a non-seasonal approach, offering collections in drops that align more with the rhythms of real life than with any fashion calendar. His work continues to reflect his love for bold femininity and glamorous statements, evolving to meet the needs of today’s digital-savvy, globe-trotting clientele. Dundas is as much about attitude as it is about design—a kind of luxe that lives not just on the runway, but wherever the party happens to be.
