With €100 million on the table, L’Oréal is hunting for startups ready to rewrite beauty’s environmental rulebook. Applications have just opened.

L’Oréal Group is stepping deeper into climate action with the launch of its Sustainable Innovation Accelerator, a five-year program backed by a €100 million investment. The initiative is designed to fast-track solutions that directly address the beauty industry’s environmental challenges, from carbon-neutral manufacturing to next-gen biodegradable formulas.
The program, which opened applications this week, is not looking for early-stage dreams. It’s seeking near-market-ready technologies from startups, scale-ups, and existing suppliers that can plug into L’Oréal Group’s global value chain. The focus is tight: low-impact packaging, water efficiency, green science, and energy reduction are all top of the list.
L’Oréal Group is partnering with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership to lend academic and regulatory rigor to the process. Selected participants will receive tailored support, access to labs and manufacturing sites, and a pathway to scale across the company’s portfolio.
Applications are open from the 23rd of June to the 30th of September 2025. Successful applicants will join a custom acceleration program built to support their innovation at scale, from prototype to global rollout.
The Sustainable Innovation Accelerator is part of L’Oréal for the Future, the company’s broader sustainability roadmap. It’s not just a funding play. It’s a clear signal that L’Oréal Group intends to turn climate ambitions into operational change.
