Louis Vuitton is making room on its vanity. The house is set to debut La Beauté Louis Vuitton this fall, marking its official entry into cosmetics with none other than Dame Pat McGrath at the helm. Often hailed as “the most influential makeup artist in the world,” McGrath steps in as Creative Director, Cosmetics, bringing her distinct vision to a beauty line that goes beyond just product.

For McGrath, this new role is something of a full-circle moment. She’s been a fixture behind the scenes at Vuitton’s runway shows for over two decades, sculpting faces that define the house’s aesthetic each season. “The beauty universe is about so much more than just product,” McGrath says of the project. “What we are creating here will unlock a new level in luxury beauty.”

Beauty isn’t new territory for Louis Vuitton. Archival pieces from the ‘20s—custom vanity cases and elegant powder compacts—point to a time when the house was already thinking beyond trunks and travel. Now, as the boundaries of luxury continue to shift, Vuitton’s expansion into makeup feels inevitable. “It’s a natural evolution,” says Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton. “Through this new universe, we have the opportunity to further accompany clients in their everyday lives.”

Details on the product lineup remain under wraps for now, but with McGrath steering the ship, expect nothing short of a beauty shake-up.
