The artist’s 18-meter Companion arrives in Bangkok, merging pop art with Thai tradition in a limited-time installation.

KAWS continues his global art tour with a fresh landing at Thailand’s historic Sanam Luang. Scheduled from May 13 to 25, the 13th edition of KAWS HOLIDAY introduces an 18-meter-high Companion sculpture, its familiar silhouette thoughtfully placed against Bangkok’s iconic landscape. Conceived in partnership with AllRightsReserved and local support from Central Embassy, the event invites visitors daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., free of charge.

Sanam Luang, situated adjacent to the Grand Palace, is deeply rooted in Thai history and culture, making it an evocative setting for KAWS’ playful yet contemplative installation. This latest Companion figure sits serenely on Earth, cradling the Moon and accompanied by a smaller figure in its lap, creating an atmosphere designed to slow viewers down and invite reflection.
Adding to the anticipation, a limited-edition KAWS HOLIDAY Thailand Collection will drop on May 6, setting the stage for the public exhibition. Previous KAWS HOLIDAY stops have transformed cities like Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Melbourne into temporary cultural landmarks, and now Thailand joins this global art circuit, spotlighting contemporary art’s dialogue with local heritage.
