A rare glimpse into Saul Leiter’s private world unfolds at Saint Laurent Rive Droite, where Anthony Vaccarello curates an intimate exhibition of unseen black-and-white prints.
In the heart of Paris, at 213 rue Saint-Honoré, Saint Laurent Rive Droite presents a quiet yet compelling exhibition: Saul Leiter Carte Postale. Curated by Anthony Vaccarello, this showcase runs from May 8 through June 14, 2025, offering a rare look into the photographer’s lesser-known black-and-white works.
Leiter, celebrated for his color street photography of post-war New York, also created a series of small-format black-and-white prints in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Developed in his personal darkroom, these images capture intimate moments—portraits of friends, lovers, and strangers—revealing the tender sensibility behind his lens. Initially exhibited by Gallery FIFTY ONE in 2024, this is one of the first public showings of the collection in Paris.
The exhibition space, once home to the iconic Colette concept store, has evolved under Vaccarello’s direction into a dynamic cultural destination. Named in homage to Yves Saint Laurent’s groundbreaking Rive Gauche line, Rive Droite seamlessly blends fashion, art, design, and gastronomy within an immersive and ever-evolving environment.

All exhibited artworks will be available for purchase at the Saint Laurent Rive Droite store in Paris. A set of ten reproduced postcards featuring Saul Leiter’s photographic works will also be on sale.
