CDG and Vans revive their canvas classic.

COMME des GARÇONS (CDG) and Vans have reunited to revisit a cult favourite: the Vans Authentic first launched by the duo in 2018. The low-top, lace-up silhouette returns in the same crisp white canvas that made the original pair an instant hit, covered once more in bold CDG wordmarks and graphic overlays that leave no doubt about its authorship.
The shoe’s most recognisable element—the black CDG patch—still anchors the design, sitting above Vans’ classic foxing stripe like a signature. Underfoot, however, a small adjustment sets this edition apart: the insole now carries the Vans “OTW” logo branding, a quiet update that distinguishes 2025 from 2018 without altering the overall look.
Otherwise, the formula remains unchanged. Fans can expect the same clean lines and easy-wear shape that slip seamlessly into a wardrobe, whether paired with denim or CDG’s own avant-leaning separates. The canvas upper, vulcanised sole and waffle tread keep the model firmly rooted in skate heritage, while the branded treatment gives the pair its fashion-forward edge.
The CDG x Vans Authentic releases on 13 June, available exclusively through the COMME des GARÇONS store and its website. For anyone who missed the first drop—or who has long since worn theirs into the ground—this straightforward reissue is a second chance at a modern staple.
