DSQUARED2 has named its latest capsule “Summer Lovers,” a nod to the 1982 film whose tale of sun-drenched possibility continues to resonate. The line collects every familiar DSQUARED2 touch—logo play, flirtatious cuts, an eye for detail—and turns the dial to warm.
Dean and Dan Caten mined two cinematic wellsprings for mood: the swagger of 1980s Hollywood and the soft-focus intimacy of French arthouse classics. From that mix comes a story of desire and self-discovery set against salt air and postcard skies. A rich colour palette underscores the theme, while the label’s logo appears freshly rendered in beach-bright hues that feel lifted from motel signage along the Mediterranean coast.
Materials keep the day moving. Lightweight cottons skim the body, classic denim frames the silhouette, and raffia finds its way into accessories that look just as at ease on sand as on cobblestones. Cuts stay loose enough for the shore yet sharp enough for a city bar before curfew. In campaign images, models slip between boardwalks, hotel balconies, and open-top jeeps, echoing the capsule’s promise of one suitcase, many stories.
