Hermès carried its Fall/Winter 2025 story eastward this week, staging Chapter 2 against Shanghai’s Lujiazui skyline. As pivoting panels revealed the city lights glinting off the Huangpu River, Nadège Vanhée traded Paris’s sleek black uniform for a wardrobe built on movement and color.
Models, casted by Julia Lange, stepped onto the wood-panelled runway with headphones slung around their necks, sweaters knotted at the waist and Kellys clipped close to the body. The styling underlined an “urban explorer” who charts her course hands-free: leather micro-shorts paired with hoodies, windbreakers stacked beneath skirt suits, even baseball caps secured by silk foulards.
Plush knits, quilted bomber jackets and velvety fur capes softened the silhouette, while rich leather still anchored skirt sets and fingerless gloves. Bright orange foundations, echoing Hermès’s signature box tone, met candy-shade pullovers and earth-toned outerwear, a palette that nodded to both city neon and bridle paths.
Accessories carried equestrian DNA into the present. Braided trims referenced stable plaiting; riding boots came studded and cuffed in metal that climbed nearly to the elbow. Each piece felt ready for sudden shifts in weather or schedule, proof that practicality and polish need not compete.
By closing the season in Shanghai, Vanhée showed how far the Hermès woman can roam without losing her seat in the saddle. Chapter 2 widens the brand’s field of vision—optimistic, unmistakably Hermès.
