Burberry’s new Highgrove capsule collection keeps the Royal Warrant holder planted in the gardens that frame Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s private residence. The 28-piece line is the fourth outing between the label and Highgrove, supporting the work of The King’s Foundation.

Chief creative officer Daniel Lee asked British artist Helen Bullock to paint four original works lifted from the Kitchen Garden’s swirls of poppies, cosmos, arbours and bees. “This new collection in collaboration with British artist Helen Bullock is the result of our strong and continuing partnership with Highgrove,” Lee said.

Bullock’s prints flow across menswear, womenswear and accessories cut in certified wool, organic cotton or organic silk. “The Gardens are so vast and rich it was hard to decide where to start,” the artist noted. “But I soon fell for the tangled sway of wildflowers and that special combination of dancing poppies and cosmos.”

Scott Simpson, retail director for The King’s Foundation, called the project “a celebration of excellence in British creativity, heritage and the wonderful outdoors.”

For the campaign, photographer Camille Summers-Valli staged family-style portraits in a country house and garden, dressing Elizabeth McGovern, Laura Carmichael and Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù in both the capsule and core Burberry pieces. McGovern and Carmichael share Downton Abbey screen history, and Dìrísù recently led Mr. Malcolm’s List.

“Asking these esteemed actors to wear the collection was the best way to make the clothes come to life,” Lee said. The statement rounds off a release that transfers Highgrove’s living canvas onto cloth, then lets it stroll straight back into the garden.
