The Roman Maison’s expanded facility doubles production capacity while championing sustainability and artisanal excellence.
Bvlgari has unveiled a monumental expansion of its Manifattura in Valenza, Italy, transforming it into the world’s largest single-brand jewelry manufacturing site. The facility now spans 33,000 square meters, more than doubling its previous size, and is designed to double production capacity by 2029. This expansion is a strategic move to meet rising global demand while reinforcing Bvlgari’s commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship.
Sustainability is at the core of the new Manifattura’s design. The facility operates on renewable energy, utilizing over 4,100 solar panels and a geothermal system comprising 100 ground probes, which together supply approximately 50% of its energy needs. The remaining energy is sourced from local renewable providers, ensuring the site maintains a carbon-neutral footprint. The building has achieved LEED Gold certification, reflecting excellence in energy efficiency and environmental design.
Beyond environmental considerations, the expansion emphasizes the preservation and cultivation of artisanal skills. The Manifattura now houses Scuola Bvlgari, the Maison’s first publicly accessible jewelry school, developed in partnership with Italy’s Tarì Design School (TADS). The school offers professional training in goldsmithing and gemstone setting, aiming to train up to 150 students annually. This initiative complements the existing Bvlgari Jewelry Academy, established in 2017, creating a comprehensive ecosystem for nurturing talent and ensuring the continuity of traditional craftsmanship.
The expanded facility also reflects Bvlgari’s dedication to employee well-being and community engagement. Amenities include preventive health screenings, summer camps for employees’ children, and sustainable mobility initiatives. Additionally, Bvlgari has reforested an 8,000-square-meter area with native tree species and installed ten beehives, home to nearly a million bees, enhancing local biodiversity.
