The house will stage its upcoming Cruise collection inside the newly restored Palazzo Settimanni archive, deepening ties to the city where Guccio Gucci opened his first store.

Gucci will present its Cruise 2026 collection inside the Gucci Archive at Palazzo Settimanni on via delle Caldaie, returning the house to Florence for the first time since the archive opened in 2021.
The 15th-century palazzo, bought by Gucci in 1953, has served as workshop, factory and showroom before a restoration revealed layers of frescoes and rooms now filled with the brand’s milestone pieces; today the archive acts as a working lab where heritage meets new ideas.
Choosing this venue underscores the city’s place in Gucci’s DNA: Florence saw Guccio Gucci open his first shop in 1921 and still hosts Palazzo Gucci, Gucci Osteria, Gucci Giardino, the production hub in Casellina and the research-focused Gucci ArtLab.
Beyond the runway, Gucci will back the 2026 Estate Fiorentina cultural programme and help revamp Parco delle Cascine. “Returning to Florence – and specifically to Palazzo Settimanni – is both a tribute and a declaration of intent,” said CEO Stefano Cantino. “The Archive is not merely a repository of our past; it is a living space where Gucci’s identity codes are preserved and reinterpreted through an ongoing dialogue.”
Mayor Sara Funaro called the show “an extraordinary event in the very city where the brand was born,” while councillors Jacopo Vicini and Giovanni Bettarini added that it “reflects Florence’s instinctive drive to create and radiate beauty, opening the city to the world and spotlighting a culture of artisanal excellence that cannot be replicated elsewhere.”
