Law Roach links with Daniel Lee to guide Burberry’s Met Gala wardrobe and table décor.

Burberry has invited Hollywood’s revered image architect Law Roach to shape its presence at the Met Gala 2025. A statement issued this morning confirmed Roach’s role as creative partner and consultant, guiding the British house’s answer to the dress code “Tailored To You.”
Roach will work beside chief creative officer Daniel Lee, aligning guest wardrobes and table décor with a night built around precision menswear. “Burberry is honoured to announce its collaboration with Law Roach for the Met Gala 2025,” the brand said, framing the partnership as a natural fit for a designer long celebrated for sharp silhouettes and British understatement.
“Tailored To You” pays tribute to The Costume Institute’s spring exhibition Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, itself rooted in Monica L. Miller’s landmark book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. For Lee, the theme lands squarely in his wheelhouse; for Roach, it extends a career built on precision dressing and cultural storytelling.
“It is an honour to collaborate with Burberry. The Met Gala encourages creativity at the highest level, which is at the core of the British house,” Roach said in the release. Lee echoed the sentiment: “Law pushes the boundaries of style through his unique point of view on fashion and culture” and added that he is “very excited to collaborate with Law for this year’s Met Gala.”
The gala unfolds on Monday May 5 under the stewardship of Anna Wintour, joined by co-chairs Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams—the first all-male cohort since Wintour began sharing the helm in 1995. Their presence signals a night where menswear stands front and centre; Roach’s involvement suggests the usual black-tie safe zone is about to see a welcome shake-up.
A host committee spanning sport, film, music and art—Angel Reese, Simone Biles, Sha’Carri Richardson, Tyla, Usher, Audra McDonald, Regina King, Spike Lee, Dapper Dan, Olivier Rousteing and others—rounds out a guest list poised for fashion fireworks. With Roach curating Burberry’s table, expect tailoring that nods to heritage while speaking directly to now. The British label may have found the perfect architect for its Met moment.
