Piaget Launches the Andy Warhol ‘Clou de Paris’ Timepiece

Piaget is closing out its 150th Anniversary year with a nod to one of its most iconic patrons: Andy Warhol. The brand has reintroduced the watch that first caught Warhol’s eye in 1973—the ‘Black Tie’—under a new name: the Andy Warhol ‘Clou de Paris.’

Warhol was no stranger to Piaget. The artist, always an arbiter of cool, was a friend of the Maison and owned at least seven of their timepieces. Now, the Black Tie has been reimagined to honor that connection, with Piaget working in partnership with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts to formally rechristen the model in his name.

The new ‘Clou de Paris’ isn’t just a rebranding—it’s a reinvention. Piaget’s Ateliers de l’Extraordinaire spent ten months perfecting the details of this watch: from the Clou de Paris finish on the white gold case to the mesmerizing blue meteorite dial. With dauphine-style hands, elegant indexes, and a dark blue alligator leather strap with a white gold buckle, the watch embodies an effortless luxury that feels both retro and forward-thinking.

Originally launched in 1972, the Black Tie collection became something of a cult favorite among collectors, and it’s clear that Piaget is looking to capture that same spirit today. The 45mm watch houses the 501P1 Manufacture self-winding movement and is available in a made-to-order service that calls back to Piaget’s bespoke traditions from their first Geneva boutique in 1959. Buyers can choose from ten different ornamental stone dials, leather straps, hands, and case materials, making each Andy Warhol watch a unique tribute to its legendary namesake—a piece of art for the wrist, just as Warhol would have wanted.
