Y-3 has always tested the boundaries of contrast, and for Fall 2025, it pushes those opposites—physical and virtual, illuminated and shadowy—to new extremes. At Pavillon Cambon in Paris, the label set a stark stage: models circled a massive LED display reminiscent of an oversized stadium screen, capturing sport’s energy and our era’s all-consuming digital culture. Just when the audience thought the spectacle had peaked, the towering panel lifted skyward, flooding the space with the unmistakable mark of adidas’s stripes.

This collection is Y-3’s latest step in a partnership between Yohji Yamamoto and adidas that dates back to 2002—a collaboration that reshaped the conversation around athleticwear and high fashion. Still riding the momentum of its 20th anniversary in 2022, the brand continues to merge performance with visual innovation. For Fall 2025, that means heavily padded layers, technical fabrics with sculptural silhouettes, and details drawn from protective sports gear. Pants come reinforced at the knees, outerwear is shield-like in its structure, and strategic tailoring offers control over volume.
The label’s signature stripes appear in a fresh way: malleable wire-like components let wearers bend and reshape the motif at will, giving a playful sense of individuality. There’s a nod to traditional Japanese artistry in prints referencing ink-wash painting techniques, while the color palette shifts between monochrome and warm, resin-inspired tones. Footwear channels both utility and nostalgia, from running styles with futuristic materials to GSG9 boots rooted in adidas’s tactical heritage, all reimagined for today’s city streets.

A key reveal this season is a collaboration with NEIGHBORHOOD, forming a capsule called Y-3-N. The vibe is all about subverting motor-sport iconography, with Death Spray Custom providing graphic flair and Dainese contributing protective leather. During the runway, personalized racing suits and one-of-a-kind helmets underscored this renegade spirit.

Front-row faces and industry insiders weren’t just onlookers; sports icons and cultural figureheads walked the runway. Model Gabbriette, basketball legend Candace Parker, skater Marcos Montoya, and trailblazing footballer Djibril Cissé each brought their own spin to Y-3’s evolving narrative, celebrating how sport and style thrive together.
