Erdem Moralioglu
Erdem Moralioglu is fashion’s storyteller par excellence. Born in Montreal to a Turkish father and a British mother, Erdem made London his creative home after earning his M.A. from the Royal College of Art in 2003. Two years later, he launched his eponymous label, blending meticulous florals and intricate craftsmanship to redefine what modern femininity could look like. Erdem’s collections aren’t just clothes—they’re narratives, each steeped in research that breathes life into forgotten histories and the powerful women at their center.
From its Shoreditch studio, ERDEM grew into one of the most celebrated fashion houses in London, known for its poetic yet daring sense of style. Erdem has always been about more than the fabric; it’s about the feeling, the story, and the craftsmanship. Over the years, the label has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the British Fashion Council’s Womenswear Designer of the Year Award in 2014. In 2020, Erdem was honored with an MBE for his contribution to British fashion, marking him not just a designer, but a cultural figure.
Erdem’s work has been showcased in some of London’s most iconic cultural institutions—the British Museum, the V&A, and Chatsworth, to name a few. The Spring/Summer 2024 collection, inspired by Duchess Deborah and exhibited at Chatsworth, exemplifies his deep love for the arts and history. He’s not afraid of collaboration either, teaming up with The Royal Ballet for the 2023 return of ‘Corybantic Games,’ demonstrating the versatility of his vision.
Today, ERDEM remains a go-to for those who seek beauty that is intense, evocative, and romantic. Whether it’s a sweeping gown seen on the red carpet or a ready-to-wear piece that blends into city life, Erdem’s creations speak a language that feels both timeless and incredibly of-the-moment. It’s fashion that doesn’t just adorn—it tells a story, and perhaps that’s what makes it so unforgettable.
