Trafalgar Releasing and Sony Music Vision will bring the Sue Kim-directed documentary “Always Lalisa” to global cinemas and IMAX screens on October 12th. The feature film follows Blackpink member Lisa through a transformative year away from the group as she establishes an independent career. Ticket sales begin September 9th ahead of a global streaming debut on YouTube Premium later this year.
The project frames her first extended break from the group as a high-stakes gamble. Operating under a countdown to her return to Blackpink, the film captures Lisa as she launches a solo music endeavor, moves into acting and builds a brand while maintaining a private life outside the spotlight.
Over the documented period, the artist played a solo set at Coachella in 2025, served on the 2026 Met Gala host committee, covered Vanity Fair and made her acting debut in HBO’s “The White Lotus.” She also claimed the first Las Vegas residency by a K-pop artist, selling out her four-show “Viva la Lisa” run at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in under 10 minutes, and opened the 2026 FIFA World Cup, performing “Goals” alongside Anitta and Rema as the first female K-pop and Thai artist to take that stage.
The cinematic rollout aligns with her upcoming music schedule. Lisa will release her EP “Press Play” on October 23rd, following the September 3rd arrival of its lead single, “SaWaDika.”
