Aphex Twin's Drukqs turns 25 with a full reissue. Warp releases the 2001 double album on October 30 across a 4LP box set, 4LP vinyl, double CD, and double cassette, with a direct-to-consumer 4LP edition adding a six-panel poster and an AFX logo stencil.
An extended edition stretches past the original 30 tracks with five additions: "dRuQks Prepared uN 1," "avril 14th half speed alternative version [re-recorded 2009 Nagra]," "avril 14th reversed music not audio [re-recorded 2009 Nagra]," "avril 14th doubletempo, half speed," and "Mangle 11."
Richard D. James has released only one Aphex Twin studio album since, 2014's Syro, which left Drukqs as the alias's penultimate statement, and "QKThr" picked up a new audience on TikTok, pulling younger listeners toward the album.
The reissue is his first release of the year, following two live tracks posted to SoundCloud in November and a Polygon Window reissue in August.
