Nineteen-year-old singer-songwriter Sienna Spiro is unveiling her debut EP SINK NOW, SWIM LATER on Capitol Records, inviting listeners into a two-sided journey that tracks every shift in her emotions. Split into “Sink” and “Swim” sections, this eight-track release showcases her ability to move from heartbreak and uncertainty to forward-looking transformation. Each track was forged alongside major-league producers J Moon, Yakob, Sol Was, Max Wolfgang, and Fred Ball, layering Spiro’s commanding vocals with a cinematic touch.

“MAYBE.” is the breakout that first caught the world’s attention, riding viral waves on TikTok with over half a billion views, and drawing more than 48 million streams so far. Its unfiltered piano-driven approach sets a vulnerable tone, but the EP’s newest single “ORIGAMI” (overseen by Fred Ball) veers into darker, more experimental territory. The track—accented by subtle effects and a propulsive beat—pulls you into a story about being fixated on someone who barely knows you exist. One line in its second verse resonates especially hard: “I found a new religion/You’re the only mission.”
“This EP is collection of songs about change,” says Spiro. “I went through a period of so much change which I couldn’t control, and these songs are the product of that. It’s about the relationship with your body, falling in love for the first time, falling out of love, feeling on the outside of everything, being young and a woman. I hope people find something they are needing in this project and I’m so excited for it to finally be out!”
Her playlist-ready approach has led to more than two million monthly Spotify listeners—a big leap for someone with only a handful of tracks in circulation. While “MAYBE.” put her on the map, the EP’s other songs also stand tall. “NEED ME” seizes on the urgency of young love. “BUTTERFLY EFFECT” brings a sweeping warmth reminiscent of past mood-setters like Roberta Flack or Toni Braxton, underscoring Spiro’s flair for shaping an atmosphere that feels both classic and modern.
With SINK NOW, SWIM LATER, Spiro confirms her status as a rising voice in pop, weaving personal storytelling with expansive production. Capitol Records continues to broaden its repertoire by championing up-and-coming talents like Spiro—and this project arrives at just the right moment, reflecting the kind of candid honesty today’s listeners crave.
