Anderssen & Voll have never been ones to play by the rules of traditional furniture design. With Meantime, their latest collection for &Tradition, the Oslo-based duo blurs the line between public and private. The series of lounge pieces feels as natural in a waiting room as it does in a living room.

The collection includes a one-seater lounge chair (AV29), a two-seater sofa (AV30), and a three-seater (AV31). Each piece leans into a certain in-betweenness. Slim yet expansive armrests stretch outward, borrowing a visual language from the often-overlooked seating found in transport hubs and terminals. The design plays with the idea of domestication, taking the pragmatic silhouettes of public furniture and refining them for a softer, more intimate setting.

Though delicate in appearance, Meantime is built to last. A lightweight shell frame sits atop a cast aluminum base. Structured cushions form a seamless, linear composition. The materials reflect both durability and quiet elegance, with steel armrests, a wooden frame, and aluminum legs available in polished or powder-coated finishes. Sustainability remains an essential factor in contemporary design. The collection features removable covers for easy repairs, FSC®-certified plywood for responsible sourcing, and recyclable aluminum to support a circular production process.

Designed for the way people live and move now, Meantime is more than an aesthetic statement. It bridges spaces, both literal and conceptual. The collection is available for inquiry through &Tradition’s website.
