Wes Anderson Returns to Montblanc With the Let’s Write Short Film

Wes Anderson has renewed his partnership with Montblanc, delivering a follow-up short film titled Let’s Write that premières Thursday evening across the maison’s digital channels. One year after celebrating the brand’s centenary, the director once again blends his unmistakable aesthetic with Montblanc’s writing heritage.

His 2024 debut for the label threaded the iconic Meisterstück, his own Scribbler pen design, the Hamburg maker’s leather goods and watches, and a wider meditation on the culture of putting words to paper. That first outing set the tone for a collaboration rooted firmly in the act of writing rather than mere product placement.

The new film reunites Anderson with longtime collaborator Roman Coppola, who serves as producer and codirector, while four-time Oscar winner Milena Canonero handles costume design. Emerging actor Esther McGregor joins the returning ensemble, expanding the story Anderson began last year.

Beyond the screen, photographer Charlie Gray captured a suite of still images featuring Montblanc ambassadors bathed in the warm, retro hues that have become the director’s signature. The visuals echo Let’s Write and extend the campaign’s invitation to put pen to paper—whether with the Meisterstück, the Scribbler, or one of Montblanc’s leather notebooks tucked just out of frame.
