Adidas Originals is hitting refresh with A-TYPE, a new project that revisits the brand’s most recognizable styles and gives them a polished spin. The inaugural lineup highlights three fan favorites—the Superstar sneaker, the Firebird tracksuit, and the Airliner bag—reworked with a pared-down color scheme and sleek metallic details. Each season, A-TYPE promises to spotlight a different set of archival hits, emphasizing Adidas’s longtime dedication to top-notch design.
For this first release, the Superstar steps out in white leather with tonal black stripes rendered in a textured finish. Handmade in Italy by skilled craftspeople, the shoes feature subtle metal adornments on the laces, plus an updated Lightstrike Pro sole that keeps the feel of the classic but brings it into now. Each pair arrives in a molded container with wood shoe forms and gloves—an homage to the brand’s storied design legacy.
Then there’s the revamped Firebird tracksuit, originally built for sports stars in the ‘80s. A-TYPE’s take frames it in fine leather and carefully stitched details, blurring the line between athletic uniform and luxury piece. The Airliner bag, also part of this drop, follows the same minimalist playbook—understated yet unmistakably Adidas.
The rollout of A-TYPE aligns with the brand’s recent push for fresh interpretations of time-honored silhouettes. Adidas Originals has also maintained its commitment to more sustainable initiatives by expanding collaborations like the Parley for the Oceans partnership, signaling that heritage and innovation can share the stage.
